Muthyala maduvu – you are so pearly!

Muthyala Maduvu popularly known as the Pearl Valley is a beautiful picnic spot that lies in the outskirts of Bengaluru. This tourist spot is located at a distance of 5 Kilometres from Anekal and 40 Kilometres from Bengaluru.

But keep in mind that you can find water in the falls only for some days after it rains.

The falling water hits the rocks and bounces up in droplets of water all through these waterfalls. And the bouncing and falling droplets in the backdrop of the sun are a visual treat, appear like drops of pearl which brings in the name for Muthyala Madu(Muthu is pearls in Kannada, Madu is a small water body).

Into the woods

This quiet and peaceful place surrounded by nature is a perfect getaway from the loud and noisy Bengaluru. Pearl Valley as the name suggests is situated within a valley nestled between beautiful hills. This is an ideal picnic area for those of you who are looking for a day’s break from the busy schedules in Bengaluru.

Within the vicinity of this waterfall lies a temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is also well frequented by the travelers who visit Pearl Valley. A puja which is a religious ritual happens here every morning.

This spot is also ideal for trekking. The mountain ranges and the open forests present good opportunities for trekkers. They can have an adventurous time trekking through the hilly areas covered in greenery.

Lush!

Points to remember

– Plenty of monkeys are seen in this area. Be careful so that you don’t end up losing your stuff to monkeys.

– There is a restaurant and public toilet facility available.

– Best time would be to visit it during the rainy season or just after that. Of course the fall will come alive next rainy season.
